Motivation.

There are tasks at home or work I don’t enjoy. I tend to push them down my “to do” list. Many of us have the same struggle.

All of us are motivated by something or someone.

Joshua asked the leaders of seven fellow tribesmen, “How long are you going to wait before taking possession of the remaining land the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given to you?“ (Joshua 18:3)

When a task is difficult or challenging, we may be tempted to settle for something that is easier.

Don’t rob yourself of God’s best!

If we settle or lack the motivation to do the hard work, we cannot expect God to bless us with his best. Sometimes we need to have the hard conversation to save a marriage or restore a broken relationship. We need change habits that rob us of God’s peace. We need to start new habits that will give us God’s joy.

Several years ago my doctor told me that I was a “border-line diabetic.” His instructions were simple: eat healthy foods, lose weight, and exercise. I was faced with a decision to take or ignore his advice. I followed his advice.

What about you? God rarely blesses us without an action of faith. How long are you going to wait?

Get up and do the hard work of real life change!
